- You can use boneless chicken thighs or chicken breasts in this recipe if you want.
- Tomatoes, chopped
- Onion
- Garlic
- Black Pepper
- Parsley
- Thyme
- Basil
- Bouillon
- Salt
- Broth made from chicken
- Cream – I didn’t use it in this post because I wanted to keep it as clean as possible, but I do sometimes use this and it turns out well. (This is an optional ingredient.)

HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN IN TOMATO PASTE
This recipe is simple, and it only takes about half an hour from start to finish. Cooking the tomato paste and the chicken is required to complete the dish. This is how you do it:
- After patting the chicken dry, season it with salt and pepper (you can add any other seasoning of choice).
- After heating the oil in a skillet over medium heat, place the chicken breasts or thighs that have been seasoned in the pan.
- After allowing it to cook for 8 minutes, flip it over and allow it to cook for another 8 minutes on the other side.
- Take the chicken out of the skillet and set it aside.
- The chopped onions and garlic should be added to the skillet, and the mixture should be stirred often until the onions become transparent. This should take roughly two minutes to complete.
- To the pot, add the chopped tomatoes, bouillon cube, parsley, thyme, and basil along with the salt and chicken broth. Stir and boil for 5 minutes.
- If you are going to use cream, now is the time to add it to the pan.
- Place the chicken that has been seared in the pan back into the skillet, and then let the tomato paste simmer for 10 to 15 minutes over low heat.
- At an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit or 75 degrees Celsius, chicken can be consumed without risk.
- When it reaches the desired doneness, remove it from the heat and serve.
HOW TO SERVE:
The following are some suggestions for accompaniments to the flavorful chicken prepared in tomato paste:
Pasta – Serve atop pasta, such as tagliatelle, linguine, spaghetti, penne, or any other type of pasta, and then top with some parmesan for a flavor that is reminiscent of cheese.
Rice – You can enjoy it equally well with brown rice, basmati rice, or white long-grain rice.
Potatoes Boiled potatoes, roasted potatoes, and potatoes prepared in an air fryer are all excellent preparation methods for potatoes.
Grains like bulghur, couscous.
Salads – basic salads like coleslaw.
Veggies such as steamed broccoli and carrots, as well as roasted vegetables with a Mediterranean flavor.
HOW TO STORE:
- Allow it to cool to room temperature, and then store it in the refrigerator or freezer as soon as possible.
- Place it in an airtight container before placing it in the refrigerator; there, it will maintain its quality for up to three days. This is how to preserve it in the refrigerator.
- Put it in an airtight container that can go in the freezer, mark it with your name and the date, and then put it in the freezer. If you do this, it will stay nicely in the freezer for up to four months.
- Reheating can be done on the stovetop in a frying pan, or the microwave using either method.
- You can use frozen food to reheat in the microwave if you choose to do so. Put in a container that can be heated in the microwave, use the defrost setting on the microwave, and once it’s thawed, heat it on high for as long as it takes to get the desired temperature.
- Defrost it first if you’re going to reheat it on the stove. It can be defrosted in the refrigerator overnight. After pouring it into the skillet, sprinkle little water over it, and then continue to cook it over medium heat until it is completely warm.
TIPS:
- You may transform it into diced chicken in tomato paste by cutting the chicken into bite-size pieces and dicing it.
- Replace the cayenne pepper or crushed chili pepper with ground black pepper instead.
- Pepper can be adjusted to suit your preferences. If you like things on the spicy side, feel free to add more.
- You can use chicken broth instead of white wine in this recipe.
- When the internal temperature of the chicken reaches at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit or 75 degrees Celsius, it is safe to eat.
- You can make the paste healthier by including veggies like bell peppers in it. You only need to cut it up and add it beside the chopped tomatoes.
- You can flavor the paste with any other seasonings that you prefer.
- Because it keeps well, you can make twice as much and put it in the freezer for later use.
